Landmark nenagh estate sold at auction
The sale of Solsborough House and the adjacent 137 acres (55.4ha) was brought to a conclusion by Sherry FitzGerald Talbot in Nenagh on Friday last, 21st November.
The property had initially been offered for sale by private treaty and advertising commenced in early September this year. Two bidders showed a strong interest and bidding proceeded by private treaty up until Friday last, at which point bidding was concluded.
Over 103 bids were taken between the start to the end of the auction and the property was sold in trust to Mr Tim Treacy, Messrs Patrick F Treacy, Nenagh. Commenting after the auction, William Talbot said: 'In my 20 years in the business, this is undoubtedly one of the finest agricultural holdings to be offered for sale in the North Tipperary area. Bidding was certainly sporadic and the price achieved exceeded all expectation. This certainly demonstrates interest in agricultural land at present in light of the imminent abolition of milk quotas in 2015'.
Solicitor with carriage of sale was Mr John Spencer, Messrs John M Spencer & Co, Cudville, Nenagh
