Former nenagh hospital director takes up ul ceo post
Former Director of Nursing at Nenagh Hospital Colette Cowan has taken up a new post as CEO of UL Hospitals.
The UL Hospital Group comprises University Hospital Limerick, Ennis Hospital, Nenagh Hospital, Croom Hospital, University Maternity Hospital Limerick and St John’s Hospital (voluntary).
Ms Cowan took up the position on Monday and will lead UL Hospitals through a change programme in line with the groups' strategic plan. She will also drive the development of the hospital group to achieve Trust Status over the coming years.
Ms Cowan has over 26 years experience working in the Irish health service, 15 of which are in management. Most recently she was Acting CEO & Chief Director of Nursing and Midwifery for the Saolta University Healthcare Group (previously known as the West North West Hospitals Group).
On her appointment, Ms Cowan commented: “I am delighted to join the UL Hospital Group as the new CEO and look forward to working with staff across all our sites to help them to achieve and deliver high quality services to our population.”
