Disney classic cinderella at nenagh arts centre
The Town Hall Cinema at Nenagh Arts Centre is presenting the classic Disney animation ‘Cinderella’ from 1950, on the big screen for children this Saturday.
Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske and Wilfred Jackson, the film was the twelfth animated feature from the studios at that time.
We all know the story: Cinderella, treated as a slave by her selfish stepfamily, dreams of going to the Prince's ball. She gets her wish courtesy of her Fairy Godmother, who does the requisite changing a pumpkin-into-a-coach, then delivers a dire 'be home by midnight' warning to our heroine. But Cinderella lingers a little too long at the ball and life suddenly becomes a lot more interesting for her. Lost slippers, true love and wonderful animation feature in this classic Disney retelling of the Perrault story.
The songs in the film are classics too and include: 'A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes', “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”, 'So This Is Love', 'Sing Sweet Nightingale', 'The Work Song', and 'Cinderella'. The film screens in Nenagh Arts Centre at 3pm on this Saturday and tickets are €5 at the door or book online at www.nenagharts.com. The film is 75 minutes long and is suitable for all ages.
