May exhibition at nenagh library

Ann Brennan is exhibiting her evocative oil paintings in Nenagh Library for the month of May.

Ann is a self taught artist from Ballingarry in South Tipperary. This is Ann's first time to exhibit in Nenagh and her work is definitely worth taking a visit to view. This body of work explores the natural beauty of our country and locality. Her work is primarily concerned with the study of light and its relationship to landscape and seascape. 

Her subject matter is both real and imagined and is drawn from our Irish countryside, both in Tipperary and beyond. She strives to capture the essence of the scene through light and distance and wishes the viewer to feel a visual experience resulting from colour, light and illusion, which are all present in her paintings. Chinese Classes at Nenagh Library
Chinese classes continue throughout the month of May. Valerie Rabbette joins us every Thursday in May at 10.30am and welcomes anyone interested in learning. There are two classes still to come, on Thursday May 21st and May 28th and newcomers are still welcome. Huge thanks to Valerie for giving her time and energy to this series of classes.
 
Cormack Brothers DVD Screnning
Join us at Nenagh Library on Friday May 29th at 2pm for a screening of the film 'The Cormack Brothers'. The film's director, Alan Browne, will be present on the day to give an introductory talk to this well known event in local history. Other films to be screened as part of our Bealtaine 2015 events include 'All the President's Men' on Friday May 22nd at 2pm. 'Thrilla in Manilla will be screened on Friday June 5th, also at 2pm. All events are free of charge and all are welcome.
