Peadar kirby at nenagh arts centre
On Thursday June 4th Public Conversations returns to Nenagh Arts Centre with
guest speaker Professor Peadar Kirby, resident of the Eco Village, Cloughjordan, and current chair of the village board.
Author of seminal books on the so-called ‘Celtic Tiger’, committed to equality,
someone who is deeply concerned about climate change, espouses the concept of de-growth and deeply questions the ideals that continue to see economic growth prevail over sustainability. Peadar will talk about the above and much more, his journey through life, to coming to live and work in the Eco Village, and his encounters and growth both as an individual and as an active citizen, both of Ireland and the world.
The talk begins at 8pm. There is no charge but there will be a collection to pay for the rental of the room. Contact Gerry Coffey at 0872197813 for further information.
