Homeless man found dead in nenagh
GSOC are investigating after the body of a homeless man was found in Nenagh on Thursday evening.
The man - who was in his early 60s and originally from Louth - was found slumped on a bench in Kenyon Street. Gardaí have ruled out foul play and family members have been contacted.
Local business people had been providing him with food. The man had become well known in the area and cut a distinctive figure as he wore a red bandana.
The Garda Ombudsman has begun an investigation as officers had earlier given him a lift into Nenagh.
Local Sinn Fein councillor Seamus Morris said the community was shocked by the death.
