Calling all budding tipperary hurlers your chance to train with champions
This year, Centra celebrates its sixth year as sponsor of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship. Throughout the summer, Ireland’s largest convenience retailer is bringing together hurling’s ‘Champions of Healthy Living’ through thirteen community hurling events taking place all over the country. The events, which have returned for a fourth year, will see some of the country’s finest inter-county hurling stars travel the length and breadth of Ireland to give heathy eating and training tips to the next generation of hurling stars.
On Saturday August 15th, one of the thirteen community events will be hosted in Semple Stadium with two of the county’s biggest hurling stars Austin Gleeson and Eoin Kelly, on hand to give budding hurlers from local clubs the chance to learn from the best and develop their game.
Centra will bring the whole community together as local families enjoy a fun-filled day out! There will be special hurling skills session for the kids, lots of family entertainment including face-painting, a hurling simulator, a delicious BBQ and music from Tipp FM. Both the young and old will also receive healthy eating tips on the day to ensure they can eat like a Champion!
This family fun event is supported by the following participating Centra stores; Hourihane’s Centra Killenaule, Casey’s Centra Toomevara, Shanahan’s Centra Borrisoleigh, Carroll’s Centra Roscrea, Dwyer’s Centra Thurles, Ely’s Centra Thurles (Kickham St & The Mall), Austin’s Centra Cloughjordan, Sheedy’s Centra Nenagh, Deegan’s Centra Urlingford, O’Connell’s Centra Templemore, Cussen’s Centra Bansha, Butler’s Centra Dundrum, Ryan’s Centra Cappawhite and Ryan’s Centra Newport.
To sign up for the event you must register in participating Centra stores. The event commences at 10am on Saturday 15th August in Semple Stadium. The hurling skills session is open to boys and girls of all standards from age five to twelve.
