Gaa announce sponsorships for the 2015 eirgrid international rules test
The GAA is pleased to announce that EirGrid will be title sponsor of the 2015 EirGrid International Rules Test match when Ireland will take on Australia under lights in Croke Park on Saturday, November 21st at 7pm.
Like the 2014 series won by Australia in Perth, this year’s series will be played over one winner-takes-all single test.
The test will be preceded by the Hurling/Shinty meeting with Scotland.
This year’s series sponsorship, coupled with EirGrid’s support of the GAA Football U21 All-Ireland Championship, demonstrates EirGrid’s continued commitment to the GAA and to communities around the country.
The GAA is also pleased to announce that the Irish Daily Mail will once again be main Irish jersey sponsor, which will be produced by O’Neill’s.
GAAGO, the GAA’s online streaming service, will also feature on the sleeves of the jersey.
The 2015 jersey was unveiled by Irish Team Manager Joe Kernan and Ireland Hurling/Shinty team manager Jeffrey Lynskey at Croke Park.
Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Aogán Ó Fearghail wished both managers well in their ongoing preparations before training panels come together in the coming weeks.
He said: “Getting the opportunity to represent the GAA in an international setting is highly valued by our players, whether it be our footballers or hurlers, and this year’s scheduled games for November should see the competitive nature of last year’s encounters continue.
“I wish both Joe and Jeffrey well in the weeks and months ahead in their training and selections. I would like to acknowledge the continued support of EirGrid as the series sponsors and the Irish Daily Mail as the main jersey sponsor for their support of our teams and the promotion of the games themselves.”
Speaking about the sponsorship, EirGrid Chief Executive, Fintan Slye, commented; “EirGrid is really pleased to support the 2015 EirGrid International Rules Test which sees Gaelic footballers from the four corners of Ireland come together to take on their Australian counterparts.
“Our business spans the length and breadth of the island of Ireland, mirroring the reach of the GAA. This competition is unique in that it gives top Gaelic footballers the chance to not only represent their community and county, but their country too. I would like to wish Joe and his backroom team the best of luck over the coming months in selecting a team that will no doubt do the whole country proud in trying to win back the Cormac McAnallen trophy.”
Sinéad Lambe Marketing Manager, DMG Ireland added: “Everyone at the Irish Daily Mail is delighted to continue our long association with the International Rules Series as team sponsors on this occasion. We look forward to another hugely entertaining game and a successful outcome for the Irish team'
