Permission granted for Nenagh development
Tipperary Co Council has granted planning permission for a car body repair workshop and gymnasium at the former site of Nenagh's aluminium factory.
Brian Comerford has received conditional permission for retention of demolition of derelict corridor on the northern elevation of the existing industrial building to make the structure safe. The application also includes (i) change of use of part of the existing industrial building to provide for; (a) a Class 4 light industrial unit to faciltate the use of same as a car body repair workshop; and (b) a Class 11 unit to faciliate the use of a gymnasium; (ii) Modifications to external elevations pursuant to the proposed change of use; (iii) Revised onsite parking configuration and use of existing vehicular access; (iv) Provision of new signage; and (v) All ancillary development works including provision of oil/petrol interceptor and use of existing drainage infrastructure.
The Thurles road site was formerly occupied by the Irish Aluminium Company/Castle Brand factory, which was in operation for more than 70 years.
