See how the Nenagh River flooded the lands around the town

The lands north of the Nenagh Leisure Centre turned into a lake last weekend as the area became victim to the worst effects of Storm Desmond.  This photo by Ger Doyle, taken from a camera attached to a drone, is the picture that says a thousand words.

Meanwhile, flooding alerts continue along the River Shannon and on Lough Derg this Thursday.

The most vulnerable communities are in the midlands around Athlone, Portumna and downstream of Lough Derg in Limerick and East Clare.
