TOYOTA TO SUPPORT CRICKET IRELAND ON ROAD TO TEST STATUS
CRICKET IRELAND has received a major boost to the organisation and their quest for Test Cricket in 2018 with Toyota renewing their relationship with the sports body for a further four years.
The deal will see Toyota continuing as the Official Car Partner to Cricket Ireland, providing a fleet of vehicles to Cricket Ireland including the Avensis, Auris and Proace, to support the operational and business needs of Cricket Ireland, and to also support the strategic development programme for the sport in Ireland.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Ian Corbett, Marketing Manager for Toyota Ireland said, “Toyota Ireland are once again delighted to partner with Cricket Ireland. Since we came on board with Cricket Ireland in 2013, the game has gone from strength to strength as is evident with both the men’s and women’s team on their way to another world tournament in India.
“Our aim with cricket has always been to support cricket at an elite level, but also at grassroots level as the game continues to grow right across the country. We’re looking forward to another exciting four years as the Official Car Partner to Cricket Ireland.”
Also commenting Dennis Cousins, Commercial Director, Cricket Ireland said: “Cricket Ireland are delighted to extend and build on our relationship with Toyota. Cricket Ireland is very grateful for Toyota’s continued support for our domestic and international game.
“In the three years to date that Toyota Ireland have supported Cricket Ireland, we have seen Irish cricket reach new heights with significantly higher participation levels and more fans supporting the game here. We look forward to working with Toyota and their dealer network for the next four years as the trend of cricket becoming more mainstream in Ireland continues and as we strive to become the next ICC Test Nation in 2018.”
The announcement of the partnership extension was made today at Malahide by members of the Ireland Men’s & Women’s teams who depart for India in the coming days where the ICC World T20 gets underway in March.
