The GAA launches its new digital platform GAA.ie

The GAA is investing in its future, and its supporters, players and stakeholders with the launch of its new website, GAA.ie.

In keeping with the requirement for continued innovation in its engagement with modern technology and modes of communication, the GAA commissioned digital sport leader deltatre to work with them on developing and implementing its new digital platform.

The GAA’s vision is to deliver a first-class digital experience for the GAA community in Ireland and all over the world. The new platform is fully responsive and offers a great experience to supporters on any digital device, which will meet the growing demand from users on mobile and tablet.

The goal of the redevelopment was to make user journeys much more intuitive and fun. Live and historical match data is now available bringing stats and data to life and providing an unrivalled ‘live’ experience on match day.

With the GAA’s core communities in mind, the site has been built into three sections.

The main home of GAA.ie offers most sought after content; fixtures and results, tickets, news and video. MyGAA is the hub for those involved in the games at all levels; players, coaches, referees, administrators, etc. TheGAA is the home of all information regarding the Association as a governing body, its history and its structures.

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Aogán Ó Fearghail said: “Never before has the need for the GAA to be proactive in this area been more obvious and for that reason we were delighted to partner with the respected leader in this field that is deltatre.

“In addition to our strong home network and our growing international community, there is a heightened awareness around our games amongst new audiences and for many gaa.ie is their first interaction with the GAA.

“I believe the new streamlined approach to content and information on the site will enhance the user experience and promote our games and activities in an extremely positive light.”

Hugo Sharman, Director at deltatre, said: 'We are extremely proud to have been chosen to work with the GAA, and are delighted our commitment to working together has been reflected in a five-year partnership until 2020.

“The GAA has opened our eyes to a new world of sport, but also a huge and passionate community. We are looking forward to continuing to help them grow the reach and engagement of Gaelic games in Ireland and around the world.”
