Nenagh writer to be honoured at launch
Nenagh writer, editor, tutor and school speaker Marjorie Quarton is to be honoured as an 'Iconic Citizen' of Tipperary at the launch of the county's Bealtaine festival at the Source Arts Centre in Thurles on Thursday, April 28th.
Marjorie will be honoured along with poet, photographer and musician Michael Coady of Carrick-an-Suir. Portraits of both Iconic Citizens will be unveiled at the launch.
Marjorie (85) is well known locally as the author of 15 highly acclaimed books. She has contributed to Tipperary Bealtaine festivals over the years. Michael Coady (77) was elected to Aosdána in 1988 and has since won the Patrick Kavanagh and O'Shaughnessy awards.
The Bealtaine festival aims to celebrate creativity as we age. All are welcome to the launch in Thurles next Thursday.
