Agreement reached on Nenagh-Thurles road plan
General agreement has been reached on a plan to realign the R498 Nenagh-Thurles road at Latteragh.
Tipperary Co Council's management report for July states that 'Option 14' has been selected as the preferred route following a number of public consultations and an environmental assessment.
This was presented to Inland Fisheries Ireland and the Ormond Anglers Association, and general agreement was secured. Subject to Department of Transport approval, the scheme will now progress to statutory procedures and CPOs are be published by end of this year, the report states.
Meanwhile surface restoration works are to be carried out on the R498 Nenagh-Thurles road at Knockalton next month.
Tipperary Co Council's management report for July states that land agreements have been signed by three landowners in the area. Agreement has been reached with a further two landowners and negotiations are ongoing with the final landowner.
