Public welcome for Gaza kids in Nenagh

At 6pm this Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st, there will be a public welcome for the u-14 soccer team from the al Helal club at Nenagh's Banba Square.

 

Please come along to Banba Square to give a big Tipperary welcome to our long awaited visitors.

 

On the following day, the Hibernian Inn will host a Civic Reception at 6.30pm. The Palestinian Ambassador, His Excellency Ahmad Abdelrazek, will attend along with local councillors, and Cllr Phyll Bugler, chair of the Nenagh-Newport Municipal Area. All are welcome.

 

A full schedule has been put together for the visitors by the organisers and supporters. The group flies back to Gaza on Monday  morning.

 

According to local group member Sara McDonnell: “We hope the people of Tipperary will come out and give them the big welcome they deserve. It is such a great and unique opportunity for these kids to get out of the conflict zone they live in and visit us here in Ireland.”
