Summertime in Nenagh Library
OUR Summer Reading Programme for children at Nenagh Library is up and running very successfully.
For anyone who has not yet become a Summer Star, there's still time during the month of August to get involved. This is open to all primary school children and younger.
Join your local library for free, pick up your Summer Reading Pack and start reading. Read six books for us during the month of August, earn gold coins for Cap'n Blackbeard's treasure chest, and receive your Reading Certificate on Pirate Day in Nenagh Library on Saturday September 17th.
Our Teen Reads Challenge is reserved for teenagers only. Worth noting, as it means there are fewer entries for our fortnightly draw, with prizes of €10 vouchers from Easons, Vodaphone, Steeples, Ormond Cinema and Supermacs in Nenagh. Simply read and review any library book of your choice, return the form to the library to be automatically entered in our draw. Our first winner of the Summer was Sara Varghese, Nenagh.
Our August art exhibition is a colourful collection of sea and landscapes painted mainly in oils by Greta Harris, who has exhibited with us previously and whose work is always worth seeing.
Our next adult book club meeting is on Tuesday August 23rd at 6.45pm. The book we are currently reading is Christina Baker Kline's 'Orphan Train'. This club meets once a month in the library and we are always looking for new members so come along if you are feeling curious.
As usual our Thursday morning storytime and colouring sessions for our younger members will continue every week at 11.15am.
