Further info sought on C&C Gleeson Borrisoleigh plan
Tipperary Co Council has requested further information on a plan for new development at the C&C Gleeson Plant in Borrisoleigh.
New car parking and office space is included in the plan submitted by the company, which last January announced the loss of 124 jobs at its Borrisoleigh factory as it sought to consolidate production at its Clonmel site.
The new planning application seeks demolition of a shed and existing entrance, and construction of a new entrance and permimeter fencing at Ileigh Road, Mountgeorge. Permission is sought for the creation of additional parking spaces and additional office space within the main bottling plant building. Additional toilets are also to be created within the main bottling plant building.
In seeking further information from C&C Gleeson, the council makes reference to unauthorised development at the site. The applicant has also been asked to submit a report detailing staff numbers at the site, and information about waste disposal, noise generation and odour emissions. An environmental management plan has also been sought.
The applicant has six months to comply with the council's request.
