Plan for Roscrea nursing home

Tipperary Co Council is considering a planning application for new works at the Mount Carmel Nursing Home in Roscrea.

The Sisters of St Marie Madeleine Postel are seeking permission for an extension and refurbishment of the Abbey St home. These works are all within the curtilage of a Protected Structure.

The proposed development will consist of the construction of a new first floor extension over the existing single-storey link between the existing two-storey buildings. A reconfiguration of the first floor of the existing 1990s building to create four independent living units is also planned. This building is to be re-roofed, coupled with the re-planning and expansion of the ground floor area and the re-configuration of the oratory/chapel roof.

The council is to rule on the application by November 6th next.
