New Moneygall FC pitch to be launched with Home Game against ROI Masters
The Republic of Ireland Masters Team will play Moneygall FC to help celebrate the official opening of the new Moneygall Football Club pitch on 17th June.
The ribbon will be cut on the new development at 2.30pm preceding the first game on the €175,000 development where the Republic of Ireland Masters team under the management of Mick Byrne will take on the Moneygall FC Legends.
Former International players such as Stephen Hunt, Mark Kinsella and Stephen McPhail will tog out alongside others for this exhibition game.
The game will kick off at 3.30pm and the local team will be made up of members spanning the 39 year history of the club each of who have been tasked with not only dusting off their boots but also to raising funds for the repayment of loans for the new amenity.
According to Henry Healy, operations manager SPAR Barrack Obama Plaza, who sponsor Moneygall FC, “The location of this new amenity compliments the existing Activity Park and Astro Pitch and will be a jewel for the community at large whose continued support ensured the purchase and development of the land. SPAR Barrack Obama Plaza has been a sponsor of Moneygall FC for some years and we are delighted to see this new pitch come to fruition”.
The celebrations will continue later that evening on the club grounds in the specially erected marquee where the licenced bar and entertainment by Darren Brown & Remix will keep patrons entertained.
