Rallysport Association Tynagh Race Sprint Championship 2017
The second round of the Rallysport Association Tynagh Race Sprint Championship 2017 will take place on Sunday, the 1st October at the Pallas Motorsport Centre in Tynagh situated roughly mid way between the towns of Portumna and Loughrea. It is also round four of the 2017 RSA Irish Championship and another RSA ‘cracker’ is expected.
The last round in April was hugely popular due to the virtually non stop high speed action from a wide and diverse range of race, rally and rallycross cars and the fastest growing new craze in European motorsport, the incredibly exciting internationally built racing buggies. This is the only motorsport event in Ireland where rally, rallycross cars and racing cars can compete against each other in the same competition to become the outright champion on a full international specification circuit. The new race buggies compete for a separate championship and prizes. To add additional spice to the mix The Tynagh Championship is now included in the full RSA Irish Championship this year which also includes three rounds at Mondello Park in Co Kildare.
Competitors are entered from all over the country and the eleven different classes include flame spitting turbo charged Subaru Impreza’s and Mitsubishi EVO’s, some beautifully prepared and incredibly fast Ford Escorts and Toyotas, there will be Honda Civics, Peugeot 106 and 205’s, Renault Clios, Opel Astras, Corsa’s and Tigras in the front wheel drive classes. Also included will be up to 25 phenomenally fast and exciting motorbike engined race buggies going head to head for the prize for fastest time of the day and ‘Start your engines’ for the second round of the 2017 Tynagh Sprint Challenge will be heard at 10.30.
So if you want to enjoy the excitement and fun with the sounds and smells of high octane motor racing make your way to the Pallas Motorsport Centre in Tynagh on Sunday the 1st October. With special deals for families and seniors and the under 12’s getting in for free what better way to spend an Autumn Sunday!
