‘CARMHA’ stands for ‘Connect and Recover from Mental Health and Addiction’ problems. It is a community group of people with personal, family or professional experience of mental health & addiction issues (so-called Dual Diagnosis) and other engaged community members. The local group meets on a monthly basis in a community location in Nenagh, and works together to raise awareness and improve services for people and families who struggle with mental illness and addiction.

The core objectives of the group are to
1) Raise awareness of Dual Diagnosis, recovery and importance of peer support
2) Strengthen the voice of people with personal experience of mental health problems & addiction
3) Create opportunities for people to find connection, meaning and purpose
4) Advocate for improved services
- Getting help when and where you need it
- Having mental health & addiction problems treated at the same time, in the same place and by the same people in a non-judgemental environment.

If anyone would like more information on the subject or wishes to get involved, feel free to follow our CARMHA Community Group Facebook Page, contact us by email on carmha@outlook,ie, phone us on 087-7722671, or visit our ‘CARMHA’ stand on the night. We look forward to seeing you there.
