Green light for Ballycommon houses

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for the development of 19 new homes in Ballycommon.

Doncarrig Ltd is planning to demolish an existing existing derelict dwelling house in the village and construct 19 dwelling houses. These will consist of 11 two-storey detached/semi-detached dwelling houses and eight single-storey detached/semi-detached dwellings.

A new entrance, connection to public foul and surface water drainage system, and all associated site works are included in the application. The council granted planning permission for the development on Monday of this week.

Doncarrig is a company of Limerick-based businessman Tony Donlan, who restored the nearby Thatched Cottage restaurant several years ago. Mr Donlan recently revealed plans for several more additions to the village, including the provision of a 'folk park' tourist attraction. He is part of a group of a businessmen that recently acquired the former Antigen factory in Roscrea with a view to further redevelopment.
