Woman charged over Roscrea stabbing
A 28-year-old woman has been charged with assault causing harm following a stabbing incident in Roscrea at the weekend.
The woman was arrested after an alleged domestic incident at Lower Limerick St on Friday night. A 31-year old male was taken to University Hospital Limerick but has since been discharged. Both parties are non-Irish nationals.
The woman appeared before a special sitting of Nenagh District Court last Saturday. She is due to appear in court again at a later date.
Elsewhere, gardaí arrested two males on suspicion of drink driving in the Nenagh district last week. One of the two was involved in a minor road traffic accident at St Conlon's Road, Nenagh, around 9pm last Thursday.
The other individual was arrested on suspicion of drink driving at Newtown in the early hours of Saturday morning. His vehicle was seized by gardaí.
A man in his 40s was arrested for being drunk and disorderly at Mitchel St, Nenagh, at 11.55am last Friday. Two other men were arrested under the Public Order Act in the Nenagh housing estates of Millersbrook and Derrylavin Heights last Saturday.
Gardaí are urging farmers and people living in rural areas to ensure that equipment is suitably secure following the theft of tools from premises at Norwood, Nenagh, in the early hours of Wednesday last. A man reported that his wallet was stolen on St Conlon's Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardaí are also investigating a reported malicious damage of property at Tower Hill, Borrisokane. Damage was caused to windows and a door in a yard some time between 6pm last Thursday and 3pm the following day. Gardaí are seeking public assistance with this investigation.
There was also a small-scale drugs seizure in Nenagh last week after gardaí carried out a warranted search in a housing estate. A substance, suspected to be cannabis, was discovered in the planned operation involving the garda drugs unit.
