Healy drafted into Munster Academy
Kilruane native Ben Healy is one of eight players have been added to the Greencore Munster Rugby Academy ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The out half, who skippered Glenstal Abbey to an historic first Munster Schools Cup success in 2018 is one of Year One recruits, along with Thomas Ahern (Waterpark), Diarmuid Barron (Garryowen), Jack Daly (Garryowen), James French (UCC), Sean French (PBC), Eoghan Clarke (Wanderers) and Jonathan Wren (PBC).
Roscrea's Alan Tynan has progressed into Year 2 of the Academy along with Craig Casey (Scrumhalf/Shannon), Liam Coombes (Back/Garryowen), Keynon Knox (Prop/UL Bohs), James McCarthy (Full back/UL Bohs), Alex McHenry (Centre/Cork Con), Matt More (Centre/Garryowen), Jack O’Sullivan (Back row/UCC) and Jack Stafford (Scrumhalf/Shannon).
Year 3 recruits are Gavin Coombes (Backrow/Young Munster), Shane Daly (Centre/Cork Con), and Sean O’Connor (Lock/Garryowen).
Three Academy players have already joined the senior ranks this summer with Calvin Nash, Liam O’Connor and Academy Player of the Year Fineen Wycherley all promoted to Johan va Graan's set-up.
