Crucial game awaits Tipp against Offaly

TIPPERARY v OFFALY

The Ragg

Saturday 14th July

Throw-in @ 5.00pm

Referee: Andrew Larkin (Cork)

Tipperary have no time to lick their wounds following the heavy defeat to Cork as they meet neighbours Offaly in a crucial round 4 clash in The Ragg this Saturday evening.

This is set to be a pivotal game as both sides are in a battle with Dublin for the two quarter final berths with group leaders Cork looking strong to claim the semi-final place.

Tipp's heavy loss to Cork has seen them slip into third position in the table on score difference behind Offaly who beat Wexford 1-18 to 1-12 last Saturday in Birr, following up their win over Meath, having lost their first game to Dublin.

Tipperary manager Bill Mullaney is a little concerned with the games now coming quickly, facing Offaly and Dublin (away) on successive weekends.

After a big meeting like we had with Cork, we are obviously concerned about the length of time but we have to drive on,” he said.

We have to forget about it and we have to concentrate on another big game with Offaly.

Our future is in our own hands whether we progress to the knockout stages or not. We have two games left, Offaly at home next week and then we are away to Dublin in the last game and we have to win both games, simple as but there’s no guarantees.”
