Divisional semi-finals to go on ahead of Under 21 semi-final
Tipperary under 21 hurling manager Liam Cahill has given his blessing for divisional hurling championship games to go ahead later this month ahead of the All Ireland semi-final.
The Premier County will face Leinster champions Galway in the last four clash on the August Bank Holiday weekend, with the North, Mid & South having scheduled divisional hurling games in a 10-14 day period leading up to the match.
The South senior hurling final involving Mullinahone and Killenaule, involving Killian O'Dwyer and Paudie Feehan is going ahead on Sunday 22nd July. In the Mid, their senior hurling semi-finals are down for Wednesday 25th July when Thurles Sarsfields (with Conor Stakelum, Michael Purcell and Cathal Moloney) take on JK Brackens with Paddy Cadell, Lyndon Fairbrother & Tom Murphy involved, while the other is on Friday 27th July when Brian McGrath's Loughmore/Castleiney face Holycross/Ballycahill who have Gavin Dunne and Bryan O'Mara on the extended panel.
The same evening sees the two North semi-finals taking place with Kiladangan (Barry Hogan) and Nenagh Eire Og (Jake Morris) meeting in Templederry while at the same time, Kilruane MacDonaghs with Cian Darcy, Jerome Cahill and Craig Morgan, face Toomevara in Dolla.
A number of these players will also be involved in County League semi-finals and possibly finals in the coming weeks ago.
“My immediate instinct is to let the games go ahead,” added Cahill speaking after the Munster final loss to Cork.
