Tipp Camogie set up GoFundMe campaign
Ahead of the upcoming All Ireland Senior and Intermediate Camogie Championship semi-finals, Tipperary are seeking the support on the double.
Tipperary's fortunes have taken a turn for the better in 2018 with the senior team reaching a first All Ireland semi-final in ten years when they take on Cork on Saturday 18th August, while the county's intermediate side are also dreaming of reaching Croke Park when they take on Down in the last four the same weekend.
However, progression on both fronts comes at a cost and in an attempt to defray the expenses from a lengthy campaign so far, Tipperary senior and intermediate manager Bill Mullaney has started a 'gofundme' campaign for the players training fund.
A modest target has been set of €5,000 and at the moment just short of €1,000 has been collected so far but in advance of the two big games, all Tipperary fans are called on to support the campaign, particularly those who might not be able to attend the matches on the day but would like to pledge their support in another way.
Tipperary Camogie are very thankful to all those that have supported their fundraising efforts so far this year, including the successful 'Golden Ticket' promotion where around 200 companies go into a draw to be the shirt sponsor on the Tipp Senior jersey, alongside other sponsor, TippFM.
Tipperary Camogie Board also hosted a Fun Run in Semple Stadium on May Bank Holiday Monday last in conjunction with the Tipperary Supporters Club.
A government 'Women in Sport' grant covers a percentage of physio bills and strength & conditioning venue hire but most costs fall to the County Board, whose primary source of raising funds, outside of fundraisers, is gate receipts for club games at the Camogie Grounds, The Ragg.
