Cahill may consider senior approach
Liam Cahill has refused to be drawn on whether he will throw his hat into the ring to become the next Tipperary senior hurling manager until after the upcoming All Ireland Under 21 Hurling final.
Speaking on Monday evening at Dr. Morris Park, Thurles at the Under 21 All Ireland media evening, Cahill admitted he hadn't given it much thought to putting his name forward and if he did it would be down to whether he feels he is ready yet for the top job.
“It is great to be linked with it but I have never really thought about the senior job as a manager and that is being honest about it,” he revealed.
“It's like anything, like player development, I would be talking about player development all the time and I have to develop myself too as a manager.
“That's something when this campaign is over, if a guy is lucky enough to be approached, it's something you would give consideration to as to whether or not you are ready.
“It's one thing saying players are ready or not ready but it's another taking a step back to see if you are ready yourself as a manager. Maybe it's a bit soon, I don't know but I'd give consideration to it after the Under 21 final.”
