Ormond trio in Munster U18 squad
Nenagh Ormond had three representatives on the Munster Clubs Under 18 squad who took part in the inter-provincial championships in UL over the last two weeks.
Conor McMahon, Jack O'Keeffe and Dylan Murphy made the squad, coached by fellow Nenagh man Noel O'Meara.
Munster began the championship well with a 32-10 win over Ulster with all three Nenagh men featuring with McMahon at outside centre, Murphy at hooker and O'Keeffe in the back row.
All three started again in the second round game against Connacht, with Jack O'Keeffe having the honour of skippering the side but they fell to a heavy 47-17 defeat to the Westerners who were the eventual winners of the competition.
Leinster were Munster's final opponents on Sunday and it was the blues who eased to a 29-7 win with all three Nenagh men starting once more with McMahon getting Munster's only try in the second half.
The inter-provincial championships were part of a festival of rugby in Limerick which also included a schools inter-provincial championship where Cistercian College Roscrea's Gavin Meagher was part of the Leinster squad who beat IQ Rugby (a team made up of Irish qualified players in England), drew with Munster and beat Ulster to win the schools inter-provincial title.
