Pogues tribute act at The Talbot
Acclaimed Pogues tribute act the Bogus Pogues will perform at an end of summer party at The Talbot bar in Nenagh this Friday night.
The Bogus Pogues are a six-piece Galway-based band paying tribute to one of the greatest Irish entertainers of them all. The band features a full ensemble and repertoire of the best of the Pogues' music.
The Bogus Pogues consist of musicians Val Broderick (pipes/whistle/low whistle), Ollie Fahy (accordion), Brian Horrigan (acoustic/electric guitar), Peter McGuinn (drums), Owen O'Neill (bass/banjo) and Labhras Sammin (vocals).
For those of you unfamiliar with the Pogues, they were an Irish and English band that mixed traditional Irish music with the ragged power and speed of punk rock, fronted by legendary local man Shane MacGowan.
Anyone who saw the Bogus Pogues live at The Talbot last year will know that they are an energetic band that pack a powerful punch. Don't miss the last big night of the summer at The Talbot this Friday, August 31st, with music from 9.30pm.
