James Quigley marked his return to club action when his 66th minute equaliser gave Kiladangan a share of the points when they drew with Borris-Ileigh in an exciting County Senior Hurling Championship encounter last Saturday.

His opportune point came when it looked like his team were going to suffer their first championship defeat but quick thinking saw him race down field unmarked to take a pass from a quick free by Joe Gallagher to fire over and earn top spot in the group and a top seeding for the quarter finals.

The right corner back had been out of action for the past three months due to a back injury which also denied him any action in Tipperary’s success at Under-21 level. Quigley replaced the injured Darren Moran at half time and was later joined by David Sweeney who made his second appearance as a substitute after recovering from a cruciate injury.

With one win to their credit, Borris needed victory to stay in the hunt and almost succeeded, even if a one point margin wouldn't have been enough to usurp Kiladangan or Loughmore in the group on score difference.

However Borris-Ileigh’s injury list continued to grow as Thomas Fahy (injured in the Round 2 encounter against Loughmore) joining Brendan Maher, Niall Kenny and Kieran Maher on the unavailable list meaning manager Johnny Kelly was forced to shake up his team, one eye-catching change seeing Jerry Kelly at centre back and the 19-year-old went onto have a great game.
