The scenes after this semi-final on Saturday resembled the winning of an All Ireland final with adults and players alike in floods of tears as the girls from the Clonoulty/Rossmore by reaching their first County final by impressively out-duelling favourites Drom & Inch.

The influence and leadership of Tipperary star Cáit Devane, who scored 1-10 of their tally of 3-13, was paramount in this clash. Along with captain Bernadette Ryan, Eimear Loughman, Clodagh Quirke, Casey Hennessy, Eimear Bourke and Sarah Fryday to mention just some, they were deserved winners without a shadow of a doubt.

But they were lucky to have built up a strong lead over the first half because wastefulness in the second half coupled with Drom mounting a late surge, brought some tense moments late on.

For Drom & Inch, it was a bitter pill to swallow as they have provided several years of entertainment at this stage of the competition, and have been knocking on the final door since 2011. However, the Drom girls let the game get out of reach in the first half and their wastefulness, came back to haunt them at the end. While they did try to come back into the game and whittled the lead back to four points at one stage, they left the comeback far too long and ran out of time.
