Burgess/Duharra focus is firmly on the 7th success

For history-making Burgess/Duharra, this is their seventh consecutive County Senior Championship final on Saturday.

Five of their previous successes have come at the expense of great rivals Drom & Inch, the last side to win the title apart from Duharra in 2011. Borris-Ileigh came close in 2016 when they took Duharra to a replay.

The defending champions have added two Munster titles to their growing role of honour before falling narrowly in the All Ireland semi-final on each of the last two occasions.

Their record is indeed an impressive one and under manager Pat Cremin their next desire is to win that elusive All Ireland title but to do so they must win their county first and that is the sole focus at the moment.

“We have managed our season on a match by match basis and the next match is a full blooded championship match where your season of work and effort is on the line. This is how we apply ourselves and our concentration is purely on the 60 to 70 minutes of camogie in front of us, nothing more and nothing less,” he said.
