Clonoulty/Rossmore looking to claim first Senior success

It’s good for any sport to have teams that are new to the scene.

Such is the case with Clonoulty/Rossmore when they take part in their first County Senior Camogie Championship final on Saturday.
Many Clonoulty supporters would agree that it’s high time to see the O'Dowd Cup find a new home after spending six years in Newtown and Kilcolman.

However, Clonoulty/Rossmore have never been here before and will have to deal with the occasions before having to then deal with the challenge in front of them.

While the pressure is off to a certain extent as they are outsiders in the final, their form suggests they can win their first title at their first attempt.

On paper Clonoulty should be as good as their opponents or near enough to it at any stage and their form this season is something very much to be taken note of and respected too.

However, lack of experience at this stage of the competition could very well be their stumbling block as they know only too well that they are up against the best team in not just the county but also in Munster.

‘They are a seasoned team. We played them in the Kilmacud 7’s semi-final earlier this year and they won convincingly. They seem to have a telepathy that comes from years of playing together. They are the standard bearers for camogie in Tipperary,” said Clonoulty/Rossmore manager Thomas Butler.
