Ormond heading into crucial three game stretch

Nenagh Ormond resume their All Ireland League Division 2A campaign this Friday, beginning a three-game stretch which will determine their ambitions for 2019.

After a see-saw first third of the season which saw Nenagh win three games out of six, they are sitting closer to the bottom of the table for comfort, with Highfield, Cashel and Navan setting a blistering pace so far at the top.

The three week break since their last game on November 10th, a last gasp home win against Dolphin, couldn't have come at a better time for head coach Dermot Dunne and joint managers John Long and Eoin O'Callaghan to refocus the squad, and also get some crucial work done on the training field, for a squad that is still getting to know eachother somewhat.

Before the players can look forward to the Christmas festivities, they face into three crucial games which will likely map out whether it is a promotion or relegation scrap they will be involved in, in the New Year.

First up, is a short trip into Limerick city for their third Friday night game of the campaign so far, this time against Old Crescent who sit just behind Nenagh in the table.

If Nenagh harbour any promotion hopes, this is a game they will look to win and take momentum into their next home game on Saturday week against table-toppers Highfield, with a trip to the Galway to take on bottom of the table Galwegians being Nenagh's final game of the calendar year, which will mark the half way point of the league so the next three weeks are set to be huge for the cherry and whites.
