All the Chimneys scores for Austin at Clonmel
Fresh from his success at the venue last month, the Willie Austin trained All The Chimneys continued his rich vein of form when he battled well to land the extended two mile 87-113 handicap chase at Clonmel on Thursday.
A well supported favourite, the Bach gelding was settled in mid division by jockey Robbie Power. He was one of the first off the bridle turning for home by kept responding Power's urgings to jump the last in front and hold the late surge of Perfect Leader by three parts of a length.
In his post race remarks, Willie Austin revealed that his charge can have a mind of his own at times but he never seems to run a bad race at Clonmel. Although now a ten-year-old, All The Chimneys still looks a picture which says much for the skills of his trainer who has kept him 'sweet' all over the years. Owned by Tim Hogan from Ardcroney, the winner will stay chasing for the remainder of the season and will be aimed at a similar type contest in a few weeks time.
