Byrne's heroics fail to see Harps progress
BT Harps 1
Ballymun United 2
By Padraig Ryan at Priory Place
BT Harps saw their marvellous run in this season’s FAI Junior Cup come to an end on Sunday afternoon when they suffered a late defeat at the hands of Ballymun United in this sixth round clash.
Keith Hanney scored twice for the Leinster Senior League side either side of a goal for BT’s Jamie Bergin before a late penalty from Johnny Coleman was expertly saved to send the Dublin outfit into the last 16.
There was huge turnout in a windswept Templemore for this game with a huge local following joined by a large travelling contingent from the capital.
