Harps remain on course for Cup double

With the 2018-2018 league competitions drawing to a close and a couple of fixtures called off due to poor playing conditions, it was a quiet weekend with only four games played across the North Tipperary & District League.

 

Cup

In the Ricky Fogarty Cup quarter final, BT Harps continued their recent excellent form with a 7-1 rout of Borroway Rovers on Sunday.

Martin Harty and Stefan Leahy both kept up their recent good form with a brace apiece for while Ben Stapleton and Shane Scully also found the net.

Harps have now earned their place in the semi-finals of both the Tipperary and the Ricky Fogarty Cups and on this form they must be considered hot favourites for both competitions.

 

League

The last league game of Division 1 took place on Sunday in what was a virtual dead rubber between Ardcroney and Sallypark with the latter securing a 3-2 win.

Both sides had secured their survival with recent wins over Borrisokane rendering this game less important but Sallypark will be happy with the win here as a warm up for their upcoming Tipperary Cup semi-final versus Portumna Town.
