NENAGH ORMOND v UL BOHEMIANS

Lisatunny

Friday 22nd March

Kick-off @ 8.00pm

Referee: Barrie O'Connell

If Nenagh Ormond ever needed its supporters to rally around them it is this Friday night as their battle to avoid relegation in division 2A of the Ulster Bank League resumes with the visit of UL Bohemians to New Ormond Park.

With just three games to go, two of which are at home (Navan also on the final day), it is still in Nenagh’s hands to avoid finishing second from bottom and going into the promotion/relegation playoffs to division 2B.

This is certainly a winnable game for Nenagh considering they defeated UL Bohs in the return fixture last October but since then, Ormond have won just three games. However, crucially they have been picking up bonus-points in recent games to keep their noses just ahead of Blackrock College, whom they meet in the second last game of the season in Stradbrook on Saturday week.

That game is likely to decide who finishes second bottom but considering Blackrock’s final game is away to Galwegians, where they will be expected to pick up the five points, Nenagh really need to pile on the pressure by recording a win at home over UL Bohs.

Their backs are certainly to the wall and with the pressure on, they may as well come out fighting and if they can cut out the errors and build on their forward platform, there’s no reason why they can’t produce a positive result on Friday night.
