SCÓR NA bPÁISTÍ 2019
Tipperary County Final Caiseal na Rí - 50 Years of Scór celebrated in style
The County Final of Scór na bPáistí took place in Halla na Féile, Caiseal na Rí on Sunday afternoon last from 2pm. Over 150 young people, all primary school age took to the stage to showcase their talents across a range of 9 disciplines. What a wonderful display we had of all that is best in our rich cultural traditions and our judges on the evening, all of whom have judged at All-Ireland level, were loud in their praise for na daoine óga bríomhara seo.
Fear an tí for the evening was none other than Michael Cooney who has represented Tipperary at all levels in Scór and who continues to encourage and teach his craft to many young people of the county and beyond. Fear deisbhéalach cinéalta gan dabht a thug gach seans do na daltaí uile agus iad ag dul ar an stáitse.
In her address Cathaoirleach Scór an Chontae, Seosaimhín Ní Cathail thanked all teachers, mentors, parents and coaches for their sterling work in bringing the competitors to such a stage and also commended all parish, divisional and county personnel for their excellent efforts over the last few months of preparation and competition. Two divisions had held A and B Finals because of the levels of participation, and it is certainly a case of Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí.
Derry Gowen whose brainchild it was to initiate these Winter Games for all the GAA family would be surely proud of his legacy as evidenced in Halla na Feile in song, dance, music, drama, storytelling and Trath na gCeist agus gan aon dabht bhi caighdeán den scoth againn ó thus go deireadh. Comhghairdeas le gach duine a bhí páirteach sna himeachtaí éagsula agus comhghairdeas le na paróistí is scoileanna uile a ghlac páirt sa chomórtas ó thus na bliana. Scór 50 Abú
