Tipperary's Intermediate Camogie team are aiming to win the Division 2 League title for the first time in their history when they take on great rivals Kilkenny in the final this Saturday.
The Premier county’s second team are making their mark, their first division 2 league final appearance since the competition began back in 1980 and surprisingly, their opponents Kilkenny haven’t won one either.
Tipperary have had mixed fortunes at this level down through the years even forced to withdraw from competition in 2014 for several reasons while just two years ago they didn’t field a team for the league.
Last season however, Tipp made inroads and only lost two of their six games losing out on a semi-final appearance on score difference.
This is indeed a huge leap for the intermediate team as their manager Bill Mullaney agrees.
“One of the goals going into last year was to get the intermediate team going and see if we could develop players from there,” he began.
