Nenagh B&B up for award
Co Tipperary has scooped one of the 10 finalist places for B&B of the Year 2019. The awards are run by B&B Ireland and the winner will be announced at the Aishling Hotel in Dublin, next Wednesday, May 15th.
Siobhan O’Dwyer of Abbey View B&B in Lisboney, Toomevara Road, Nenagh says she’s delighted to have been nominated. “If my selection as a finalist is based on customer reviews, then I must be doing a good job in running Abbeyview B&B,” says Siobhán. “It’s a welcome recognition of my hard work in looking after guests and exceeding their expectations for the past 10 years.”
Helena Healy of B&B Ireland says the reviews show that "for B&B Ireland guests, it's not just about good rooms and great home-cooked breakfasts. It's also about the welcome, the atmosphere and the local knowledge."
B&B Ireland is the only national body representing the B&B sector on the island of Ireland. Their visitor numbers increased by over 11% in January this year. Revenue rose 18% in 2018 to over €11.2m and booking numbers increased by 2% in 2019.
The awards are sponsored by Waterford Crystal and the winner will receive a Waterford Crystal Vase engraved with the title of ‘2019 B&B of the Year’.
