Minor hurlers look to bounce back as Deise challenge looms

TIPPERARY v WATERFORD
Semple Stadium, Thurles
Sunday 19th May
Throw-in @ 12.00pm
Referee: Nathan Wall (Cork)
Tipperary minor manager Paul Collins did his utmost to accentuate the positives following a disappointing 12-point drubbing at the hands of Cork on Sunday.
And few would blame him after the manner of the defeat that had just been inflicted on the reigning Munster champions. However, at this juncture last year then manager Tommy Dunne cut a similar figure but look how quickly that turned around. The fact is, at this level, every game is a huge learning curve for these developing players and one that this up and coming Tipperary minor side will benefit hugely from.
“It's the first outing in the championship. Last year we lost our first match too but we came back and re-grouped and are Munster champions,” he began.
“I really thought in the first half was when the real damage was done because I though we played quite well but we conceded some soft scores and we weren't as economical as we had been in previous games this year."
