Honor Oak returns to winning ways for Tom Hogan

Honor Oak, from the Tom Hogan stable, was rewarded for some sterling displays in recent times when she defied top weight to land the six furlong 56-81 handicap at Sligo on Tuesday evening.

In recording the sixth success of her career, the daughter of Zebedee made every yard of the running to defeat Bay Of Skaill by a length and a quarter. The trainer reported post race that his charge who was a well backed favourite is a superb mare that runs to her mark every time which means that she is always in the grip of the handicapper.

Hogan was also fulsome in his praise for owner John Doran who he described as the best man that anyone could ever hope to train for. Citing the fact that this was a team effort, Tom also had words of praise for Emma, the mares Physio and Paddy at home. Honor Oak is a mare that takes her racing well and she is in the right hands to add to her collection as the season progresses.
