Sheedy pleased with committed and hard working performance
The medical room beneath the stand in Cusack Park was the designated media area following last Sunday's Munster Championship clash but certainly Tipperary weren't in need of it following another thoroughly impressive performance.
The challenge of trying to beat Clare in their own backyard was a considerable one and everyone of the players stepped up to the task with manager Liam Sheedy pleased with what he has seen so far.
“The ferocity of this Munster Championship was well documented before we started on 12th May. So to be sitting here on 12th June with three wins is very pleasing,” he began.
“There were periods in that game where we played really really well. The start of the first half was nip and tuck. Podge Collins and Peter Duggan got two points in front of me against the breeze and I was saying, Oh my God, but we found our flow and the goal settled us. We gave away a few frees and went in six up. It was definitely a six point wind so we knew we were going to be up against it.
“The lads set really ambitious targets for themselves and again in that second half they worked very well. We were fortuitous to get the ball off the post but when it came down to Seamie he made no mistake and that was probably a critical score. The score we put up in that second half, against the breeze, was very pleasing.
