Go-ahead for Nenagh houses
An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission with revised conditions for a new housing development in Nenagh following an appeal from local residents.
Tipperary Co Council had granted conditional permission to Singland Homes Ltd for 22 houses within four vacant plots at the Springfort Meadows estate on the Limerick Road.
An appeal was subsequently made to An Bord Pleanála by two third party appellants named as Elaine McWeeney and Others, and Bartley & Marion Ryan. Among other concerns, issues were raised in relation to traffic, parking, noise, housing density, lack of services, and concern that the design of the new houses would not be in keeping with existing properties.
Following its assessment of the case, the board granted planning subject to a number of conditions, including a stipulation that eight houses should be omitted from the proposed development in the interest of residential and visual amenity. A revised planning application for housing layout was required.
