Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society goes wild!

On Friday, June 14th, Bob Foyle will share with the community his photographs and knowledge of the White-Tailed Sea Eagle.

A retired Civil Engineer, Bob has spent the past number of years monitoring and photographing the White-Tailed Sea Eagles on Lough Derg, who became the first pair to raise chicks in Ireland in 100 years. His interest in the birds of prey in particular has taken him to many countries throughout Europe, photographing the eagles, various raptors and storks, and also the Bald Eagle on the Frazer River near Vancouver in Canada. He is a member of the Golden Eagle Trust, Birdwatch Ireland, Irish Raptor Society and the UK Birds of Prey.

Bob says he has always been a passionate photographer of wildlife and fauna and he has spent many hundreds of hours studying and photographing the eagles in Portumna, and has an extensive collection of photographs. He has given presentations to 15 Birdwatch Ireland branches, Inland Waterways Ireland Lough Derg Group, and to various other groups.

Bob will give a 50-minute presentation of a 'Year’s Life Cycle of the White-Tailed Sea Eagles on Lough Derg'. Having had a glimpse of some of his photographs, we are looking forward to this very unique presentation of the White-tailed Sea Eagle, who is now very much part of the life on Lough Derg. Venue is Terryglass Hall at 8pm. Admission: €5; members: €2.
