Tom Hogan Lands Gamble at Limerick
Landing gambles is nothing new to Tom Hogan and he did it again at Limerick on Saturday when Rhydwyn ran out a comfortable winner of the concluding mile maiden.
Having posted an eyecatching display at Listowel on his first outing for Hogan the ex Charlie Hills inmate was heavily supported into 2/1 and he did the business in the manner of a horse that we will be hearing a lot more about. Rider Billy Lee had the son of Kodiac smartly away and he had everything in trouble early in the straight, Lee had only to change his hands for Rhydwyn to go clear for a highly impressive two and a quarter length success from Hurricane Cliff. Make no mistake but this left a lasting impression in the minds of many shrewd punters who are eagerly awaiting his next outing.
Hogan reported that since the winner has had two outings in the space of fortnight he will not be in a hurry to send him out again. There are many options available to him and since he is versatile in terms of trip the rest and the best are surely yet to come.
