André Rieu live screening at Nenagh cinema

The Ormond Cineplex in Nenagh is bringing local audiences a more diverse offering of live entertainment from this summer, starting with a screening of the annual Maastricht concert by King of the Waltz, André Rieu this Saturday, July 27th, at 7pm. Tickets: €12.50 each.

 “We’re delighted to be screening André Rieu’s Maastricht concert this July 27,” said Managing Director of the Ormond Cineplex, Helen Gleeson. “Rieu’s concerts in his home city are always special occasions, and promise to make for a vibrant and colourful occasion in our own cultural calendar right here in Nenagh this summer.”


She added: “There couldn’t be a better concert to unveil our efforts to promote more diversified live entertainment in the Ormond Cineplex. By screening events such as these, we aim to make them more accessible and affordable for the general public in Nenagh and throughout this region.”


André Rieu's annual hometown Maastricht concerts attract music lovers from all over the world. This year, for the ‘Shall We Dance?’ shows, the medieval town square will as ever form a spectacular backdrop for magnificent musical concerts full of humour, fun and emotion for all ages.


Joining Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra for this occasion will be a cast of more than 100 dancers, along with world class sopranos, The Platin Tenors, and other special guests. And cinema audiences will be treated to behind-the-scenes content, including an exclusive interview with the maestro himself as well as other surprises.


Ahead of his homecoming concert that will be screened in Ormond Cineplex, Nenagh, Rieu commented: “Once again I am delighted to welcome fans into my hometown of Maastricht, through their cinema screens. This is a magical way of seeing, what for me every year, is a wonderful occasion.”


Tickets for André Rieu’s ‘Shall We Dance?’ concert at Maastricht are on sale now and, due to their popularity, early booking is advised. The 145-minute July 27th livestream will be recorded and replayed on Sunday, July 28, at 3pm.
