Ticket scramble begins for All Ireland Final

By Shane Brophy

The scramble begins this week for the all important tickets to Sunday weeks All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final between Tipperary and Kilkenny.

Tipperary have received just under 9,500 stand tickets and 5,500 terrace which is around one thousand down on 2016 when the county was also in the minor final, meaning Kilkenny's allocation will be higher as they are appearing in both the senior and minor final this year.

70% of stand tickets are in the Davin, Upper Hogan and Cusack stands. There are only a limited amount of central Lower Cusack stand tickets as the Season Tickets holders are situated there, of which Tipperary have 2,200 season ticket members who are guaranteed an All Ireland final ticket once they have attended 60% or more of the county's league and championship games this year.

Tickets are also very limited in central Lower Hogan as Croke Park issue players tickets for their families plus sponsors, guests etc in these sections. The ratio of Terrace tickets received is two thirds Hill 16 and one third Nally so this will be reflected in every clubs allocation.

Tipperary County Board have told clubs that they will “try and give a fair variation of tickets” in the different sections.
